Hello, I upgraded my pc into 2.50 Ghz dual core and 512 mb video card and when I turn on the computer there was a message said Unknown CPU Detected Bios Update is required to unleash its full power. Not a cure but gets rid of the error is to turn go to bios and set errors to "stop at no errors" machine boots normally ....sure if its a fix but skips the error message during boot, this maynot be safe so at your peril ;) Asus p5n32sli premium E8500 duo processor. Thread UPDATE: I was able to flash the latest BIOSs without changing the CPU using the integrated ASUS flash tool; after flashing the BIOS successfully and rebooting I got rid from the CPU message; instead I got this message.
How do I flash the BIOS without being able boot from anything?
You will get this message when you install a CPU that is not supported by the mainboard BIOS.
